About

Every EMS clinician has a call that changes their physiology before they even arrive. It may be a pediatric airway, an obstetric emergency, an unusual trauma, a rapidly deteriorating patient, or a presentation that does not fit neatly into a familiar protocol. These are HALO events—encounters in which limited experience, time pressure, uncertainty, environmental complexity, and the provider’s own stress response can quickly affect attention, recall, communication, and decision-making. HALO Training is not a catalog of rare procedures or another protocol review. It is a readiness system designed to help BLS and ALS clinicians remain effective when the call stops behaving as expected. You will learn a repeatable approach for controlling your response, recognizing what is physiologically failing, establishing priorities, coordinating the team, assessing whether treatment is working, and changing course before an ineffective plan becomes a patient catastrophe.
